Bio

Vanessa E. George, MBA, CMCC, is a career development professional with expertise in providing career coaching, program development and training / facilitation. She is currently Associate Director, Graduate Career Management at the University of San Francisco’s School of Management, where she leads career advising and career education and conducts workshops, seminars and classes on career development. Ms. George has over 25 years of experience in management with corporate, non-profit, and academic institutions. Prior to USF, Ms. George was Senior Manager of Leadership Development Programs at Pacific Gas & Electric Company. Prior to that role, she was Assistant Director at UCSF’s women’s leadership center, the Center For Gender Equity, where she led several leadership development programs focused on mentoring, networking, career development and executive coaching. Ms. George also led the Women of Color Action Network, a Bay Area non-profit focused on women’s professional development, for ten years. Ms. George is a Certified Career Management Coach, facilitator and instructor and has trained more than 1,000 people on effective networking, mentoring and personal branding techniques over the past nine years. Ms. George has a B.A. from Stanford University, an M.B.A. from Georgetown University and is pursuing a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Organizational Development at the California School of Professional Psychology (Alliant).
